Note that this is a very relevant CRS as it is recommended by INSPIRE Specification on Coordinate Reference
Systems - Guidelines (D2.8.I.1):

"Lambert Azimuthal Equal Area (ETRS89-LAEA) for pan-European spatial analysis
and reporting, where true area representation is required;"

Now it works for me in 2.0 rc1 (build 2060), but it would be great if someone else could test it.

Thanks. I'll try it myself.

Curiosity: Did you use Windows XP because it's the operating system of the real world or because it's the OS you use?

#7 Updated by Cesar Martinez Izquierdo over 11 years ago

Actually XP was the standard on my organization till mid-2010, and I haven't reinstalled the PC since then.
For new installations, it has been replaced by Windows 7.

#8 Updated by Juan Lucas Domínguez over 11 years ago

It works also in Windows 7 (64-bit OS, 32-bit JVM)
If it works on Ubuntu (I'll try next Monday), then I'll close this bug.

I suspect there was a problem with the package installer (it's a bit different because it's platform-dependent)
I probably created a corrupt version of it in previous builds.

#9 Updated by Juan Lucas Domínguez over 11 years ago

  • Category set to CRS
  • Status changed from New to Fixed
  • Assignee set to Juan Lucas Domínguez
  • Target version set to 2.0.0-rc4

Removed unnecessary error dialogs and returned null when error happens.

Test:

- create view and set EPSG:3035
- Load https://downloads.gvsig.org/download/geodata/vector/SHP2D/Espana_25830_SHP2D.zip and reproject on the fly
- You'll see the map of Spain slightly rotated clockwise (because it's in the European CRS)
